In 2013, Brazilian-born designer Lorenzo Martone launched Martone Cycling Co in Europe and the U.S. Since his stylish and strong city bikes hit the streets, the city biking landscape has never looked so chic.
Martone, a designer, found existing bikes boring. So inspired by fashion, he designed his own happy-looking bike line in monochromatic hues, with matching tires, signature red chains, handlebar baskets, and a SRAM Duomatic gear hub for city riding. Debuting at the chic boutique Collette in Paris and Montauk's Surf Club, Martone and cycling haven't looked back since.
When he's in New York, Lorenzo can be found biking along Manhattan's West Side Highway, stopping to catch a sunset. Leave it to a Brazilian to reinvent the wheel and bring something fun, lively and useful to the city bike party.
What do we think of all this bike transit? Great for city air and city legs! Sol de Janeiro says bravo to bikes by Martone!
