Juneteenth (recognized on June 19th) honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. In 2021, congress officially passed a bill making it a federal holiday — after gaining momentum after the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 according to CNN.
In observance of Juneteenth, our Sol Family is dedicating more time toward self-education and moments of deep reflection to recognize the progress made — and the progress we will continue to make as we fight for racial equality together.
