PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT
Our differences are a cause for celebration. At Sol de Janeiro, we respect all participants and do not tolerate discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, transgender status, religion, religious creed, age, disability, pregnancy, genetic characteristics, military/veteran status, or marital status. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment at our events and expect that our participants will do the same.
To ensure every guest feels welcome and safe, we ask that all participants avoid the following behaviors:
- Behavior that is disrespectful, disruptive, dangerous, or predatory to others;
- Any form of discrimination, racism, sexism, or hate;
- Stalking or persistent following;
- Deliberate intimidation or bullying;
- Harassment in any form;
- Disruption of events in any form;
- Inappropriate or unwanted physical contact;
- Sexual harassment such as unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or visual, verbal, or physical conduct of a sexual nature;
- Any violation or attempted violation of applicable laws or event policies;
- Theft;
- Possession or use of a weapon or any item that could potentially cause harm to other participants;
- Possession or distribution of any illegal drug paraphernalia and substances;
- Excessive use of alcohol or other impairing substances;
- Violations of any right of Sol de Janeiro or those of a third party; and
- Infringement of Sol de Janeiro’s intellectual property in any manner.
Participants who do not uphold this standard may be asked to leave the event, and further action may be taken if necessary.
Participants asked to stop behavior in violation of this Participant Code of Conduct must comply immediately. Sol de Janeiro reserves the right to refuse admittance to or remove any person from a Sol de Janeiro event at any time in its sole discretion.
If you or another participant requires help or if you believe you have witnessed a violation of this Participant Code of Conduct, notify event personnel, a Sol de Janeiro staff member, a member of security (if present), or send an email to ola@soldejaneiro.com.
Please note that reaching out to Sol de Janeiro directly will not replace or constitute a notification to local law enforcement. All suspected unlawful actions should be reported directly to local law enforcement.
Participants are expected to use good judgment and exercise personal responsibility when traveling to/from an event. Please be mindful of your surroundings and belongings, and aware of your safety. Stay hydrated and fed. Pay attention to weather forecasts and prepare accordingly.
