How is this shampoo and conditioner with curly hair? I don’t want something to flatten my curls. Thanks

Brazilian Joia™ is formulated for most hair types and textures, but works best for Straight, Wavy, and Curly hair and Fine, Medium, and Thick textures. If you have dry or extremely oily hair, this may not be for you. It shouldn't flatten your curls.

Are the shampoo and conditioner 100% organic?

No, All of our products are formulated without sulfates, phthalates, parabens, propylene glycol, petrolatum, mineral oil and microplastics. We are proud to ensure the highest levels of safety, efficacy, and aesthetics. We use a blend of natural Amazonian raw ingredients. We're very selective in our use of synthetic materials and use them only to maximize the benefits and freshness of our products, so they are not certified organic.

Can I use This shampoo if I did the chemical ironing? Does it contain salts?

We recommend conducting a strand test or confirming directly with your stylist to be sure. The sodium chloride in the shampoo is in the formula at an extremely low concentration in order to improve the texture of the product itself. It wasn't intended to have any effects on hair.

Is this silicone-free?

Yes, However, we chose to formulate our conditioner and our hair mask with high-quality, water-soluble silicones because they smooth hair, reduce frizz, help during the detangling process, and bring lightweight shine and silkiness. Because they’re water-soluble, they completely rinse out so there’s no build-up, which can compromise the health of your hair over time — and leave it looking dull. Hello. I received a sample of the Joia shampoo and conditioner and I love both products. Before purchasing the full size, I wanted to know if the shampoo and conditioner set is protein-based and safe to be used daily since the products are labeled as strengthening? I have fine, straight, colored (dark brown) hair which is pretty healthy and it tends to be slightly on the dry side but only in the winter. I am concerned that the Joia strengthening shampoo and conditioner set may deposit too much protein and cause breakage if used daily. Please advise. Thank you so much.

Our Sol Seal Technology does contain a plant-based protein. It is safe to use daily for most hair types because the protein is very balanced with moisture. However, we don't recommend washing every day due to the damage water causes to hair.

How is the chitosan in this product derived? It's most commonly made from shellfish but apparently this is vegan friendly?

The chitosan used in our Sol-Seal technology is not made from shellfish, it's mushroom-based. Hope this helps!

Does this smell like Cheirosa '62?

Yes! They have the same fragrance notes of pistachio, salted caramel, and vanilla. However, please note that our addictive Cheirosa '62 scent may smell slightly different in different forms.
