Ahhhh. We all know that a massage feels good (doesn’t even reading the word massage make you feel more relaxed?), but what you may not know is that there are specific ways to use different types of massage tools—like our NEW Firmeza Massage Tool—to get the most from your at-home massages.
Why use a body massage tool?
There are many benefits to using body massage tools, including reducing stress and increasing relaxation, reducing pain, muscle soreness and improving circulation and lymphatic drainage. To choose the right body massage tool and method for you, first consider what type of massage you’re interested in. Swedish massage uses long, smooth strokes, while deep tissue massage applies more pressure to reach deeper layers of muscle tissue. You may also want to choose a massager with different attachments for different areas of the body, such as a detachable head for the neck and shoulders.
How to choose the right one for you
Next, decide what benefits are most important to you. If you plan to use your massager for muscle pain, an electric model may be a good choice. Electric massagers like vibrating back massagers and body massager machines are great for people who want a consistent, deep massage. Lymphatic drainage massage tools, like the Firmeza Massage Tool, are handheld massage tools that are also a good choice for those are looking for debloating and depuffing benefits.
Start with clean skin
Before using your massager, make sure your skin is clean. So, start with a warm shower or bath to open your pores and help your muscles relax. Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel adds a touch of hydration and luxury to your shower routine.
Prep skin, pick an area of your body to focus on and begin massaging
Apply a light layer of body oil (like our NEW Bum Bum Body Firmeza Oil) to hydrate and increase your tool’s ability to glide over the skin. If you’d like to try our signature lymphatic drainage massage technique with our Firmeza Massage Tool, start with your belly. Position the handheld massage tool at your waistline next to your navel and glide the tool down to your thigh. Repeat 3-5 times on both sides. Then, position the hand held body massager at the center of your stomach above your navel, and sweep the tool up and out towards your armpit. Repeat on both sides 3-5 times. Finally, for your waistline, start with the tool on your outer waistline and sweep it down towards your bikini area. Repeat on both sides 3-5 times.
Vary your strokes, and take your time
Don't rush your massage. It should be a relaxing experience. Go at your own pace and focus on how your body is feeling. Let the oil soak in and enjoy the sensations. After your massage, it is important to drink plenty of water to help your body flush out toxins and prevent dehydration. So, drink up and bask in the glow of hydrated skin and a calm, relaxed body and mind!
